Wood is a substantial renewable resource that can be used as a fuel to generate electric power and useful thermal output. Wood for use as fuel comes from a wide variety of sources. The Nation’s forest land (or timberland) is the primary, and in most cases original, resource base for fuel wood. Wood for fuel use is also derived from private land clearing and silvi-culture and from urban tree and landscape residues. A third major wood resource is waste wood, which includes manufacturing and wood processing wastes, as well as construction and demolition debris. Railroad ties and utility poles are Patriot Energy Services, LLC’s biggest source of materials for fuel used in Power Plants. |

Patriot Energy Services, LLC Announces R&D Project - Steven C. Johnson of Patriot Energy Services, LLC announced new funding for ongoing Biomass research and development within their organization. “R&D is nothing new to us, and certainly is a major element of our success. We have had a concentrated effort all along to help educate our customers and continually examine all aspects of the emerging Biomass industry,” Johnson said.
